Obama Stands for Trans* Rights

Amidst the huge debate surrounding equality and the use of public by trans* persons, youth often get the brunt of the attacks. Obama is working towards protections for this vulnerable population, while others feel gender equity is inconsistent with their personal beliefs.

“‘Kids who are sometimes in the minority, kids who have a different sexual orientation, who are transgender are subject to a lot of bullying potentially. They are vulnerable,” Mr. Obama told the website. “I think that it is part of our obligation as a society to make sure that everybody is treated fairly and that our kids are all loved and that they’re protected and that their dignity is affirmed.'”-Barack Obama
